Melvin Ely knows he is a valuable commodity--a 6'10" power forward center who is having a very good year filling in for injured Bobcats Emeka Okafor and Sean May. He also knows that the Nets, who the Bobcats play tonight, have made two or three passes at him. Ely is content in Charlotte, however, and says he won't be able to sleep til after the February 23 trade deadline. Meanwhile, Rod Thorn wouldn't comment on the team's interest in Tim Thomas, noting he is still under contract to the Bulls.
