Perhaps Thursday's game did have a carryover effect, but if it did, it lasted only 10 minutes of gametime. The Celtics missed their first 12 shots Saturday night at the Meadowlands and the Nets built a 22-2 lead late in the first quarter. But Boston got back into it quickly and tied the game with three minutes to go in the half. The game was tight from then on out and after Eddie House missed a chance to take the lead with 12 seconds to go, Paul Pierce hit a 22-foot jumper at the buzzer with Jason Kidd in his face to win the game for the Celtics. Both teams shot poorly, but Al Jefferson had a career night for the Celtics with 29 points and 14 boards. Coming off one the greatest performances of his career, Jason Kidd shot just 1-of-11 from the field, scoring a season-low five points.
