When Billy Hunter of the NBA Players Association filed suit against the introduction of a new game ball, one of his main points was the complaints of Jason Kidd. The Nets' guard said the ball's microfiber material was giving him nightly paper cuts on his fingers. That complaint, shared by Dirk Nowitzki, was apparently a key determinant in getting Commissioner David Stern to reconsider and possibly dump the new ball for the old leather variety.
