These are not the Dallas Mavericks of two or three years ago. These days, they can win with defense, and Tuesday night at the Meadowlands, they held the Nets to 75 points on 35% shooting, cruising to an easy 17-point victory. After working their way back into the game after an ugly start, the Nets trailed by as many as 17 points late in the second quarter and early in the third. A 10-0 run got them back into it and they cut the lead to five late in the third, but that would be as close as they got. Dallas pulled away in the fourth, handing the Nets their seventh loss in eight games against the Western Conference. Nenad Krstic (18 and 12) and Mikki Moore were the bright spots for the Nets, while the Big Three combined to shoot just 13-of-39 (33%) from the field.
