Should the Nets Trade First Rounder for Ely?

Melvin Ely is getting no playing time in Charlotte, averaging only 2.3 ppg and 1.2 rpg, compared to 10 and 5 last year. Jeff McInnis isn't even playing for the Nets. Rick Bonnell, Bobcat beat writer, suggests that with Nenad Krstic out, it may be time to trade Ely for McInnis and a lottery-protected first rounder. Bernie Bickerstaff said when people call, he answers, but otherwise had no comment. Meanwhile, a Heat writer suggests a blockbuster trade involving Vince Carter might work in the Nets' favor.
