Vince Carter had scored 35 total points on 25% shooting in the previous three games. Wednesday night at the Meadowlands, he scored 38 on 10-18 from the field, leading the Nets to a big win over the Cavs. The game was tight through most of the first half, but a 14-4 Nets run at the end of the third quarter gave them some seperation. The Nets led by as many as 16 early in the fourth, but Cleveland came back quickly, closing to within five before the Nets got a jumper and an assist to Jason Kidd from Carter and two big baskets from Jason Collins. They closed it at the free throw line and even though the final margin of victory was just two points, Cleveland never had a chance to tie or take the lead. Bostjan Nachbar provided a lift off the bench once again, with five of his seven points coming in the key run in the third.
