Ratner Faces Delay, More Scrutiny, Before Final Arena Approval

Various news reports Friday indicated that Bruce Ratner may have to wait until at least next year before his giant Atlantic Yards project--including the Nets' Brooklyn arena--gets final approval. Moreover, the approval process would follow a new review of the financial benefits to the state and city. The Public Authorities Control Board is to meet Wednesday but if one of its three members, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, is leaning towards a delay, it's unlikely to take up the Atlantic Yards vote.
