In an interview with the New York Times' John Eligon, Rod Thorn notes that the Nets' starters "need to get a little tougher mentally out there" if the team is to succeed. Thorn, whose bench rebuilding looks to be a success, noted that the starting unit was second in the league last year in outscoring opponents, but this year they aren't even in the top 50. He says "there's nothing on the horizon" regarding trades.
