Nets Can't Recover From Listless First Half

In their first back-to-back of the season, the Nets could not match the Sonics' energy in the first half, trailing by as many as 28 points in the second quarter at the Meadowlands Monday night. They closed it to an 18-point deficit at the half, but couldn't make it interesting until late in the fourth quarter when they closed to within five with a minute and a half to go. Luke Ridnour then finished them off at the foul line and Seattle went home with their third straight victory. The Sonics got 22 or more points from four of their starters (including Ridnour's career-high 32) and dominated the boards (46-34). Vince Carter led the Nets with 38 points, Nenad Krstic added 21 and Jason Kidd pitched in 20 points and 12 assists.
