Nets Take Advantage of Second Chance

The Nets lost another big lead, this one a 16-point, third-quarter cushion in Washington Sunday evening. However, a pair of Vince Carter threes in the final minute of regulation, including a buzzer-beater that bounced off the back of the rim and in, forced overtime. They then held the Wizards scoreless for 2 1/2 minutes and cruised to a 105-93 victory. Carter led all scorers with 34 points, while Jason Kidd recorded his 77th career triple-double with 15 points, 18 assists and 11 boards. Nenad Krstic recorded his second straight double-double and Bostjan Nachbar came up big off the bench with 15 points on 6-of-8 from the field. Meanwhile, the Nets defense held Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison to a combined 9-for-39 shooting.
