Across the country this past Tuesday, citizens voted against stadium proposals and eminent domain, which is not a good sign for a real estate developer trying to take land that isn't his to build a new arena in Brooklyn. Still, in New York, the big winner was Elliot Spitzer, the governor-elect. Spitzer has not wavered in his support for the Ratner project and has already expressed his concern about attempts to limit the state’s ability to employ eminent domain when necessary.
