It's not often Vince Carter is the jumping off point for a discussion among intellectuals, but it happens. Malcolm Gladwell, author of "The Tipping Point" and "Blink", believes media criticism of Carter doesn't take into account what his peers think of his talent. He quotes an NBA player: "You have no idea how hard it is to do the things that Carter does." Gladwell says this is "what happens when where an outsider tries to make sense of an insider's perspective." SLAM thinks Gladwell ALMOST gets it.
