Seemed like a good idea at the time. With the Nets ever more encroaching on their New York preserve, the Knicks would hold their open practice in New Jersey, at the Fairleigh Dickinson campus to be precise. So there! Didn't work out that well. Only 1,500 fans showed up in the 5,000-seat arena and it gave writers an opportunity to compare the two teams...not a good thing for Isiah Thomas. Former Knick and current Net announcer Mark Jackson didn't need this new opportunity: he's better than that.
