The Nets defeated the Knicks in a track meet 138-121 Friday night at the Meadowlands to conclude the preseason. Marcus Williams was the star of the game with 21 points, 9 assists, 4 boards and 3 steals in 27 minutes. He was one of five Nets to score 20 points or more, including Richard Jefferson, who led the team with 32, and Bostjan Nachbar, who added 20 off the bench. Of course, defense was an issue once again as Steve Francis sliced the Nets up for 39 points
