Jay Williams Decision a Mix of Reality, Perceptions and Money

In his mailbag, Dave D'Alessandro writes that Nets dumped Jay Williams because of the reality that he wasn't ready for the NBA, because of a growing, but incorrect perception that he had a chance to make the roster and because the cost of paying him and other training camp invitees was mounting. D'Alessandro adds the VC experiment at the point is intriguing to the Nets--and Carter. He also takes a swipe at forum cynics. Williams' teammate Chris Duhon says he will be back.
