The Nets have announced that Marcus Williams will be out "indefinitely" with a sprained left wrist, which he jammed in practice Tuesday. However, Rod Thorn said there is no ligament damage and no need for surgery, adding "at first, it looked to be worse than it ended up being." Best bet is that Williams will be out four to six weeks. Who will now back up Kidd? One possibility: Vince Carter. Another is Jay Williams, whose own recovery continues to amaze.
