Forest City Enterprises--the parent firm of Bruce Ratner's Forest City Ratner and a 15% owner of the Nets--this week unveilled a billion dollar plan for a mixed use development in Pittsburgh, featuring a half billion dollar casino. The project, called "Station Square", would take advantage of a new Pennsylvania law permitting "slots palaces". Forest City is largely owned by Ratner's cousins. In general, the NBA permits owners to have gambling interests as long as they don't include sports books.
