Devils Invite Nets to Join Them in Newark

After putting up $100 million to insure the construction of a new arena in Newark, Devils' owner Jeff Vanderbeek invited the Nets to join his team in their new digs next to Penn Station. The Nets still plan to move into a new half-billion dollar, Frank Gehry-designed arena in Brooklyn sometime in the 2008-09 season. But if that deal falls through, said Vanderbeek, he would welcome the Bruce Ratner and the Nets to the Devils' 18,000-seat, $310 million arena.
