A New York State judge refused to grant a temporary injunction to stop the first demolitions at the site of the Nets' new arena in Brooklyn. The demolition isn't likely to proceed for more than a month anyway, said Bruce Ratner's attorney. A new hearing on a permanent injunction will come before the judge again then.
