Missing Richard Jefferson once again, the Nets could not hit their shots Friday night in Memphis and they dropped their second straight game. It was an ugly game all around, particularly in the first quarter when the two teams combined to shoot 38%, leaving the score tied at 18 after one. The game remained close through the middle of the second, but Memphis finished the half on a 16-0 run, building a 20-point lead. It didn't get any better than that and the fourth quarter was all garbage time. The Nets shot just 34% from the field and committed 17 turnovers. Vince Carter led New Jersey with 14 points, but took several bad shots, shooting just 5 of 17 from the field.
