Fans attending the Nets' annual open practice on October 7, normally a free event, will be asked for a $10 donation this year, proceeds to be provided to the Red Cross for Hurricane relief efforts. In addition, the team will hold a live auction of authentic autographed game jerseys of Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson, as well as VIP game packages with proceeds also donated to the relief effort. Meanwhile, Kidd is visiting hurricane relief shelters in Houston.
