Rocket free agent Scott Padgett has agreed to a one-year contract with the Nets, getting the $1.6 million remaining from the mid-level exception. The Nets would have a team option on a second year. Padgett, who has played both forward positions and shot 40% from beyond the arc last year, will get the money the Nets saved from not signing Robert "Tractor" Traylor. Traylor, it was revealed, has a heart condition. The Nets continue to pursue another shooter as well but prospects are "iffy".
