Nets' Brooklyn Arena Getting Pushed Back?

For the second time in a week, there are hints that the Nets' new Brooklyn arena may not be ready in time for the 2008-09 season. On Wednesday, a Forest City Ratner spokesman told the Star-Ledger that the Nets should move into the new arena as planned, but added that it may get pushed back by as much as 12 months. Then, on Friday, a New York State public notice stated that Ratner "anticipate[s] that the arena block and Site 5 would be completed by 2009". That same document notes the state is planning to use eminent domain to acquire land for the project.
