The Nets's search for a backup to Jason Kidd has ended. Jeff McInnis, the Cavaliers' talented but often controversial point guard, has agreed to join the team, according to his agent. The contract is for one year with a player option for a second. The 6'-4" McInnis averaged 12.8 ppg last season and finished 7th in assists-to-turnovers ratio. He played with both Vince Carter and new Net assistant coach Pat Sullivan at North Carolina.
