Nets, Blazers Agree to Sign-and-Trade Deal for Abdur-Rahim

The Nets and Blazers have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal that gives Shareef Abdur-Rahim a sixth year on his new contract and gives the Blazers a lottery-protected 2006 first-round pick. The trade marks the culmination of an extraordinary year-long turnaround for the Nets, from mourning the departure of Kenyon Martin to celebrating the arrival of yet another all-Star. Now, the Nets will move to fill up their bench, starting with Keyon Dooling. Dooling has told the Nets they are his first choice, but has yet to commit to the team.
