There seemed to be little, if any, progress yesterday in three-way talks aimed at bringing Shareef Abdur-Rahim to New Jersey. The only development appeared to be a Portland offer to work a deal if the Nets gave up draft rights to highly regarded Mile Ilic. It was an offer the Nets felt they could refuse. Despite the impasse, Rod Thorn and Abdur-Rahim's agent haven't set any deadlines. Both sides were looking at alternatives, however. Thorn and Stromile Swift's agent were saying nice things about each other and Abdur-Rahim was attracting strong interest from the Clippers.
