Nets Win - They're In

The Nets came back from 19 down in the 2nd quarter and 11 down at the half to defeat the Boston Celtics and earn their way into the playoffs. They will take on the #1 seed Miami Heat starting Sunday afternoon in Miami. New Jersey came out tight, and the Celtics went on a 15-0 run bridging the 1st and 2nd quarters to take control of the game. Boston made 8 of their first 10 shots from 3 point range and led by 19 with 5 minutes to go in the half. The Nets then went on a 9-0 run, and were able to cut the lead down to 11 at halftime. Things turned around completely after that, as New Jersey outscored Boston 32-8 in the 3rd quarter to take control. The Celtics' bench played the 4th quarter and cut the Nets' lead to 3 with a little more than a minute to go in the game. They wouldn't score again, as the Nets hit 6 of 8 free throws down the stretch to pull out the win and move on to the playoffs. Vince Carter led all scorers with 37 points. Jason Kidd shot just 3 of 12 from the field, but finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Nenad Krstic recorded his 9th double-double of the season, scoring 18 points to finish the year at 10.0 points per game.
