The NBA Players Association is protesting the league's $10,000 fines against 13 players--including the Nets' Jeff McInnis--for wearing their shorts too long. The union has filed a grievance and asked for an arbitrator's ruling on whether the league has the power to fine players for their on-court fashion sense. In addition to the fine levied by the league, McInnis has been assessed a $20,000 fine by the Nets who had warned him of the league concern. The Nets were fined $50,000 by the league.
