Nets Win Ugly For Eighth Straight

It wasn't pretty, but the Nets got it done at the Meadowlands Friday night, beating the Atlanta Hawks for their eighth straight win. Neither team ever really got into an offensive rhythm and the game was plagued by fouls and unforced turnovers. Jason Kidd caught fire early on, scoring 18 points on 7 of 10 shooting in the first half. Vince Carter took over in the third quarter and Jacque Vaughn hit three big shots down the stretch to seal the game for the Nets. Carter finished with 37 points on 13 of 22 shooting to lead all scorers. Kidd and Richard Jefferson added 21 and Clifford Robinson provided a lift off the bench with Jason Collins in foul trouble and Nenad Krstic banged up with a wrist injury. The Nets now have a week of rest before they host Orlando next Friday.
