Scott Padgett looked exactly what the Nets needed against the Nuggets: a bench player who can come in cold and quickly get hot. But in spite of his 5-for-5 performance, overall the bench remains a problem. They've been outscored by an average of 29.2 to 21.2. While Rod Thorn has been working the phones, there's no progress. Houston turned down his offer for Stromile Swift. Others seem just as unattainable. And an Ohio paper reports Jeff McInnis is telling friends he too would like to be traded.
