The Nets' management surprised their fans, Zoran Planinic and perhaps even themselves yesterday when they agreed to extend the contract of the floppy-haired Croatian to a fourth year. But in doing so, GM Ed Stefanski and Coach Lawrence Frank told Planinic just what they wanted from him this year: consistency.
