Nets Finish Preseason With Ugly Win Over Knicks

The Nets and Knicks combined for 54 turnovers Friday night and New Jersey was able to take advantage of 47 trips to the free throw line for a 91-86 win at Madison Square Garden. The Nets led by as many as 16 points early in the second quarter and never trailed all night, but they could never put the Knicks away. Richard Jefferson led all scorers with 19 points. Nenad Krstic finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds, shooting 6 of 8 from the field. Vince Carter struggled offensively, shooting just 3-10 for 15 points and turning the ball over 6 times. The Nets finished the preseason with a 5-3 record.
