Zoran Gets Big TV Ratings

Soccer is still king in Europe, but basketball--and not just NBA basketball--is catching up. The highly controversial Spanish win over Croatia in the Eurobasket 2005 quarterfinals achieved a share of 16 in Spanish households. That means 16% of all Spanish households watching television that night tuned to the Spain-Croatia game, an average of 2,026,000 viewers over the course of the game. During the overtime period, the number soared to 3,800,000. The game was also televised in Croatia and Serbia, where it was played. No numbers for those markets have been released.

By comparison, Nets games on YES are rarely seen in more than 100,000 households.
