Game 29 - Nets @ Knicks - Saturday, January 1, 7:30 PM

Vince Carter will add a new element to the Nets/Knicks rivalry Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. New York enters the new year with a 3 game winning streak, giving them a relatively comfortable 2 1/2 game lead in the Atlantic Division. Jamal Crawford is out for the Knicks with a sprained toe, but they could get Penny Hardaway back after missing almost a month with a hamstring injury. The first time these two teams met this season, Crawford scored 30 points, and the Knicks took advantage of a 15 minute Nets drought to win going away. The Nets enter the game still banged up. Richard Jefferson has knee and wrist injuries, Brian Scalabrine may miss another game with a hamstring injury, and Jason Kidd is still not quite back to his old self.
