The Nets and Pistons will head back to Auburn Hills after Detroit came into the Meadowlands and got the win they needed to stay alive. New Jersey opened the game with a 13-2 run, but lost their focus defensively, giving up 50 first half points, and trailing by as much as 17 points early in the third quarter. They made a furious run to get it back within 2, but they could never get even, losing by 6. Richard Hamilton's jumper with 15 seconds left was the big basket, giving Detroit a 4 point lead. Hamilton led all scorers with 24 points, and Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 23. Game 7 is scheduled for Thursday night at the Palace.
