The Nets shot just 34% from the field, but that was much better than the Blazers Tuesday night, and New Jersey evened their record at 2-2 with a 64-60 win. After allowing 106 points per game through the first three, the Nets looked a top defensive team again, due in part to Alonzo Mourning's presence in the middle. Mourning started his first game as a Net, and finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks. Zoran Planinic started for the first time this season, and added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Ron Mercer (knee) and Travis Best (ankle) did not play, and Jason Collins sat out the second half with an ankle injury of his own.
