Teletovic Dominated Eurobasket


Mirza Teletovic will head to New York soon to settle in and get familiar with his new teammates. He will travel knowing he accomplished what he set out to do in the Eurobasket Qualifying Tournament: Get Bosnia in the European championships next summer. He also proved once again he is one of Europe's top players. His final numbers: 24.3 ppg, second in the competition;6.3 rpg; 44.9% shooting overall; 35.6% from deep. He also shot 83.6% from the stripe, tenth in percentage and fifth in attempts. With a few scattered games still left, he ranks in top 15 in 12 different offensive categories (12th in defensive rebounds); in top five in seven categories.

Nets Set Up Eurobasket Page


The Nets have set up a page on their website to update the Eurobasket schedules of the the four "international Nets" -- the two rookies and two draft picks competing in the FIBA event. All four will be in action Friday. Bojan Bogdanovic (Croatia) plays Hungary; Tornike "Toko" Shengelia (Georgia) goes against Latvia; Ilkan Karaman (Turkey) against Portugal and Mirza Teletovic (Bosnia) against Romania. Teletovic is the Qualifying Tournament's leading scorer.

Teletovic Has Big Game But Bosnia Beaten


Mirza Teletovic had another dominant game on Friday in Trentino Italy, but his Bosnian squad lost to Finland, 86-74, in a "friendly" game. Teletovic scored 29 points, averaging 25.7 for the three game tourney sponsored by the City of Trentino. No data is yet available on his shooting. He did corral 8 boards. Bosnia is preparing for the Eurobasket Qualifying Tournament that begins in little more than a week. Meanwhile, Ilkan Karaman, the Nets' Turkish pick, averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds over three games in a Bulgarian friendly tournament. Bojan Bogdanovic played for Croatia on Wednesday against Switzerland and scored 9 points in 85:60 victory. He didn't participate on Thursday's friendly.

Barcelona May Be Competition for Teletovic


The agent for Mirza Teletovic says his client will play in the NBA next season and named the Nets and Cavaliers as his top choices. But that has not stopped F.C. Barcelona, one of Europe's top teams, from trying to sign him. Reports indicate that Barcelona will be ready to make an offer to Teletovic if he can't get enough from the NBA to cover his $2 million buyout from Caja Laboral.
