A look at the revised front office page on the Nets website reveals yet another addition...and in a new position.
Christophe Charlier, a long-time associate of Mikhail Prokhorov, has been named "Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nets Basketball". The duties of the new position have not been enumerated, but he's listed just below "principal owner" Prokhorov in the Nets' new hierarchy.
Charlier is deputy CEO of Prokhorov's personal investment vehicle, Onexim. He's part of what's being called "Team Prokhorov", a group of Prokhorov insiders the new owner is assembling to run the Nets and Barclays Center. He is 38 years old.
UPDATE: A note from the Nets clarifies a few things: Charlier is only a French citizen and does not hold any stake in the team. Also, the day-to-day basketball decisions are still in the hands of Rod Thorn.
