Armor Win Record Fourth Straight

Despite having its four best scorers in NBA training camps --three with the Nets and one with the Trail Blazers-- the Armor won their fourth straight. It was the first time the Armor has ever won four straight in its two-plus years of existence. They are also 5-1 and lead the D-League's Eastern Division.

The Armor will have six returning players from last year's team and have seven picks in the D-League Draft Thursday night, starting with #17 overall. Their other picks are numbers 46, 47, 78, 79, 100 and 101.

In Springfield, A Tryout To Die For

Among the 46 prospects (in some cases a generous description) who tried out for the Armor yesterday was Jay King, a reporter for the Springfield Republican, who last played for Skidmore College Thoroughbreds. Jay King probably didn't make the cut, but he didn't "toss any cookies" and was treated kindly.

With GM and Coach in Place, Next Up For Armor Is Filling Out The Roster

Milton Lee and Bob MacKinnon Jr. are now in place as GM and head coach for the Springfield Armor. They've hired Chris Carrawell as the team's assistant coach. Now all they need are players. In the latest edition of "Destination Springfield", the Nets' series on the Armor's development, MacKinnon spoke of one thing he likes in players.

Nets Name "Coach K" Protege To Be Armor Assistant, Nets Employee

Chris Carrawell, who's spent much of his adult life in Duke basketball, has been named assistant coach of the Springfield Armor. Carrawell, 33, now becomes the second Nets employee on the Armor staff, joining Bob MacKinnon Jr., who was named head coach last week.
