"Do the John Wall"

Machinima.com is an online entertainment site showing original videos from your favorite video games. It's posted a NBA 2K10 mix of a certain Kentucky guard playing for the Nets next season. It's set to Troop 41's "Do the John Wall". Put together by Jayarealgoon21, it shows a number of Nets players in the background, including Brook Lopez, Yi Jianlian, Terrence Williams, even Sly. But not Devin Harris. We guess we know were he stands on the Wall-Harris debate. One person who might not be happy with the video is Lopez. It shows Wall wearing #11. That's taken.

Yi, Lopez Could Be Part of World Championship Prelim in NYC

Yi Jianlian will be competing for Team China in the FIBA World Championships in Turkey this September. Brook Lopez looks like he has a good shot at making Team USA. If so, you could see the teammates competing in an NBA-sponsored Hoops Festival in New York a month earlier. Five or six national teams, including those from the United States, China, Brazil and Puerto Rico, will hold public practices at New York venues like Times Square and Rucker Park and compete in an exhibition tourney at Madison Square Garden.

The Nets' Winning Example

Down on your luck, ask the editorial writers at the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Gazette? In a real life slump? Follow the example of the Nets! The paper points out that the Nets were headed towards the NBA futility mark when they suddenly won three of four to get to 10. Calling the Nets' surge "this inspiring reminder from suddenly amazing Nets" the Post and Courier advised, "Losers who refuse to quit can become winners".

Lopez's 37 Second Best Ever for a Nets Center?

How good was Brook Lopez's 37-point performance vs. the Pistons Friday night? According to Basektball Reference, it was the second highest point total for a Nets center since 1986...and maybe ever. Only Sam Bowie's 38 points vs. Minnesota on March 20, 1991 was better. It was Lopez's fourth 30+ game in the last two years. Since 1986, Nets centers have scored 30 or more points ten times. Basketball Reference data only goes back to 1986-87.
