Barclays Center GM Replaced

For the second time in 18 months, Barclays Center has seen a change at the top of its management structure. Sports Business Journal reports John Sparks, brought in to run the arena in May 2011, is out, replaced by David Anderson, one of his deputies. Sparks replaced Alex Diaz after Diaz joined MSG in March 2011. Sparks decided to "go in a different direction" and left New York a month ago, Brett Yormark told SBJ. The change is not expected to affect the arena construction timetable.

Ticket Sales Soar on Big Three Rumor

It doesn't hurt when the back page of the New York Post is dominated by a stylized headline, "Crooklyn Nets - Nets Steal Johnson from Hawks, Close in on Deron" over a picture of your latest acquisition. But the busiest day in ticket sales since Jason Kidd left?!? Darren Rovell tweets, "The Nets tell me that today is their busiest day in ticket sales in the past 5 years. Off Joe Johnson or JJ leads to Deron?

Another Sellout

Brett Yormark has announced via Twitter that for the second consecutive game, the Nets have sold out the Prudential Center. Counting the two London Games as "home games", that means the Nets will be playing before their fourth sellout crowd in five games. The only exception was the Warrior game, which attracted 13,513.

Nets to Host Chinese and Russian Culture Nights

Brett Yormark has already told the Russian media that the Nets will hold a night of Russian Culture on January 19 when the Jazz and Andrei Kirlenko arrive at The Prudential Center. Nets Business Innovations Among NBA Best

In the prestigious Sports Business Journal reader survey, the Nets rank third in "most innovative business practices". The franchise garnered 8.16% of the votes from nearly 1,000 participants. The Heat, with 17.65%, and the Mavericks, with 17.45% were the only teams finishing ahead of them.

Yormark Remembers

Here's a message to those who doubt Brett Yormark: The Nets CEO has a very long memory. SI's Chris Mannix writes about the Barclays Center boxing deal with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Productions. Specifically, Mannix reports on how the LA-based promoter got the inside track and how one Brooklyn promoter got his nose out of joint. Lou DiBella is upset he's been left out of the deal. Of DiBella, Yormark says, ""He's a naysayer who never thought the Barclay Center would ever happen. Right or wrong, he stood on principle waiting for a phone call. Golden Boy saw the opportunity and seized it."
