Agent Denies Nets Interest in Walsh


Steve Kauffman, the agent for former Knicks GM Donnie Walsh, denies a report that Walsh is not interested in a top GM job and that the Nets have expressed interest in him for a lesser job. Kauffman called the report, by Knicks blogger Tommy Dee "totally false in both respects...absurd." Kauffman also represents Bobby Marks, the Nets assistant GM.

Marks: "I'd Love to Run a Team"


Crain's New York Business is out with its "40 under 40" feature, pointing out rising stars in fields as diverse as composing, business and sports. Among this year's honorees: Bobby Marks, the Nets assistant GM and admitted Nets lifer. Marks, who was considered for the Trail Blazer GM job in 2010, talks about how he'd like to run his own team someday. "He has the ability," says Billy King.

It's called "Kim's Fairytale Wedding: a Kardashian Event" (aka "Two Nights, Two Hours, Too Much"). E! will air four hours of Kris and Kim over the next two nights: two hours Sunday night starting at 8 p.m.., then another two hours Monday at 9 p.m. Other than Kris Humphries, who plays a supporting role as Ms. Kardashian's husband, look for cameo appearances by Jordan Farmar, Brook Lopez, Billy King, Bobby Marks, Avery Johnson and a couple of assistant coaches.

With No Real Deals To Be Made, Marks Trains Next Generation of Writers


All transactions are stalled by the lockout, leaving the Nets front office and those who cover it with a lot of time on their hands. Al Iannazzone writes Thursday about a sports writers camp held in Newark. On hand was Bobby Marks, the Nets assistant GM, who helped the kids, who are in grades 6-9, by taking questions and offering suggestions on how to cover a professional sports team. Also helping out was a sports writer who sounded suspiciously like Iannazzone himself.
