Kris Joseph, it turns out, was all the Armor needed to get their act together. Four games after Milton Lee traded his lone All-Star, James Mays, to Maine for the ex-Celtic, Springfield is 4-0.They beat the Bakersfield Jam, 98-89, in Springfield.

Armor GM Milton Lee took a big risk two weeks, maybe his biggest since taking the reins in Springfield. He traded James Mays, an All-Star, for Kris Joseph, who'd just been cut by the Celtics.The move paid off. Joseph is D-League player of the week.

Willie Reed, Kris Joseph Lead Armor to Third Win

The Armor won their third straight game Saturday night, beating the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in Springfield with Willie Reed hitting a career-high 27 and Kris Joseph finishing with 21. In three games with Springfield, Joseph's averaging 24.0.

Nets Prospects Help Armor Win Again

If the Nets decide to fill their final roster spot with a D-Leaguer, two of the strongest candidates have to be the Armor's Kris Joseph and Willie Reed. The 6'7" SF and 6'10" PF led Springfield to their second straight win over the Idaho Stampede.

Armor Coach Bob MacKinnon says the Nets wanted to take a look at ex-Celtics swingman Kris Joseph, that that was part of their motivation in trading for him last week. The Armor gave up their All-Star center James Mays in the deal.

The Armor have acquired Kris Joseph, former Syracuse star and Celtic bench-warmer, from the Maine Red Claws, trading James Mays, the D-League leader in double-doubles. The Nets don't hold Joseph's rights, but he'll learn their system in Springfield.

Armor Bigs Play Well, but Shooting Woes Sink Them

The Armor's continuing problem, shooting, did them in again Thursday. The worst shooting team in the D-League, they shot 38.4 percent overall and 27.3 percent from deep against Maine and lost. Only good games by their bigs, kept it close.
