NetsDaily Site News Update
We've updated our news sections this weekend, adding and filling out three new ones: 2011 NBA Draft, 2011 Free Agency and Springfield Armor. Clicking on either the section link at the top of the post, after author, date and time posted, or within the sections column on the upper left hand corner of the site will take you to all the stories we've published on that subject. We've retained the sections for the 2010 NBA Draft, 2010 Free Agency and 2010 Coaching Search and we're constantly updating some of the others, including stories on the Nets' move to Brooklyn and Site News, where this item will wind up.
A couple of other points on locating material on NetsDaily. Clicking a highlighted name of a player, coach or team within the text will link you to content on all 300+ SB Nation blogs. If you're looking for stories on individuals whose names are not highlighted, add "/tags/" and then the name, with a dash between first and last names, to the end of the NetsDaily url. For example, if you're looking for stories on Christophe Charlier, the Nets chairman, you can get all the items we've tagged at http://www.netsdaily.com/tags/christophe-charlier, broken down by stories, fan posts and fan shots. There's also the archive of all our stories since the site was launched on Feb. 6, 2004.
Sorting out stories can be imperfect and may be incomplete. For example, we've included most of the stories about Deron Williams' potential free agency under 2011 Free Agency but those related to the billboards erected near Barclays Center are filed under Brooklyn. Hope this helps...and if anyone has any other hints, feel free to share.

NetsDaily FanPost Rules
We encourage you to make FanPosts. It's one of the great features of the SB Nation community. But FanPosts have much stricter requirements than standard comments.
Please take not of the following rules regarding FanPosts, and note that FanPosts that don't abide by the rules will be removed.
1. FanPosts should only be used for new topics. Do not make a new FanPost when there's an existing FanPost or existing story in the main area of the site with the same subject matter. Please just add your thoughts to the existing post. There's never a need for more than one discussion about the same topic.
2. FanPosts are for longer, more thought-out (or more researched) commentary. They shouldn't take just a minute or two to post.
3. FanPosts must meet a certain quality standard. They can't have multiple spelling, punctuation or capitalization errors.
4. FanPosts are not for links to external sites, unless the link is accompanied by commentary that abides by Rules 1-3. If you're just linking to an article, video, etc. with a short comment, post it as a FanShot.
The above rules may seem strict, but they have a purpose. Adding new FanPosts that aren't original topics or didn't take a lot of time and energy to write just pushes other FanPosts off the front page, while not adding much value. That's unfair to those that have taken the time an energy to write a quality FanPost.
If your FanPost is removed, you will be notified. Posting one or two FanPosts that don't meet the above guidelines is not a big deal, but if you continue to disregard the rules, you are subject to being banned from NetsDaily.
Please also refer to our general site guidelines and, as always, send us an e-mail if you have any questions or comments.
NetsDaily Site Rules and Guidelines
Quality discussion, both on the main site and in the forum, is very important to us here at NetsDaily. We've been working every day since February of 2004 to make this a professional site. We've earned a strong reputation in the NBA community over that time and won't have that reputation damaged by immature or disrespectful discussion in the comments.
Please refer to the following site rules and guidelines. They may be different from those of other SB Nation sites you visit.
1. No profanity, even if it's masked or not spelled out completely.
2. No content that can be interpreted as disrespectful to a group of people. This includes racial slurs and stereotypes, pornography or anything close to it. This also includes the word "retard" in any form.
3. No personal attacks. Do not attempt to bait, insult, ridicule or belittle a fellow commenter.4. No links to illegal feeds of games.
5. No trolling. If you're just here to antagonize others, you won't last long.
And we ask that you follow these additional guidelines:
1. Quality over quantity. One intelligent post is worth much more than eight meaningless ones.
2. Correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization are wonderful things, and they add to your credibility.
3. Don't attempt to state your opinion as a fact.
4. Support your opinion. Writing only "Smith sucks" doesn't add to the discussion or earn you much respect in the community unless you also give the reason(s) why.
5. Have fun. We're discussing sports here. There are far more important things in life than what is said on this blog.
Inappropriate comments will be deleted and those who post them will be sent a warning. If someone continues to break the rules, they will be banned from NetsDaily. It's that simple.
Because we're unable to monitor every single comment that gets posted, we need your help. SB Nation has a great feature that allows all users to flag comments that are inappropriate and/or break the site rules.
If you read a comment that needs our attention, please click on the "actions" button at the bottom of the comment, and then click on "flag." At that point, you are asked to give a quick reason for the flag before submitting.
Flagging a comment will bring it to our attention, and we can handle it from there. Please do not respond to a comment that breaks the rules. If you respond in kind, you will earn a warning as well, and you're response will get deleted anyway.
Please also refer to our FanPost rules and send us an e-mail if you have any questions or comments.
Left-Handed Complement
The left hand column of NetsDaily is where we list links to sites--and some of our own work--that we think will be helpful to Nets fans. As the Nets' presence on the web, on blogs and in social media has grown, so has the list.
In the last couple of weeks, we've done some housekeeping over there and wanted to point out some of the new links we've added and some others we've updated. Among other things, we've added a link to ESPN New York's Nets blog under Blogs. Under Resources, we added links to Barclays Center's Construction Update page (which itself appears to be under construction) and the Nets Media Guide. We also updated NBA Calendar, NBA Salaries, Nets Agents, Nets Trade Assets and Team Prokhorov under Resources.
Social Networking now includes links to the verified Twitter accounts of seven Net players (and stats guy Milton Lee) plus the Nets' newest social media offering, Formspring, an interactive question-and-answer site. Under Sources, the additions are NetsRussia, the team's soft-launched Russian-language website, and the Springfield Armor team site...gotta stay ahead of the curve.
NetsDaily Update
We've done some updating and housekeeping the last few days.
We've cleaned out some of the dead wood in the left hand column, replacing the IZOD Center Seating Chart with one for the Prudential Center; updating links to the six official websites/blogs of Nets players (Devin Harris, Terrence Williams, Jordan Farmar, Travis Outlaw, Johan Petro and Sean May) and to the seven players who have twitter pages (Harris, Williams, Outlaw, Petro and May plus Kris Humphries and Anthony Morrow); as well as adding new resources on Nets' trade assets, agent representation, and Team Prokhorov, a who's who of the new ownership.

Reminder: Site Rules and Guidelines
Fellow Nets fans, we hope that you are getting used to the new NetsDaily. In our six-plus years of operation, this is our second major overhaul of the site. We're very excited to be a part of the SB Nation family and believe that the new site has many features that you will learn to love.
By the way, if you don't remember what the original NetsDaily looked like, check out this link.
Most important to us, though, is that you get the same things out of NetsDaily that you have since February 6, 2004: Up-to-the-minute news, the most thorough collection of links that you'll find on any sports blog on the web, and quality discussion.
The last part is the reason I'm posting this.
If you've been reading NetsDaily for the last few years, you know how important quality discussion, both on the main site and in the forum, is to us. And one small drawback to the new format is that comments are tougher to moderate. There's no word filter, which held comments up for moderation if they contained profanity on the old site.
For the most part, the discussion has been great, but we have had a few naughty words and personal attacks that we dealt with after the fact.
This is where we need your help.
Please re-familiarize yourself with the site rules and guidelines after the jump...
