Magic Writer Takes Notes of Net Fans' Recruiting Effort

56

Brian Schmitz, the Orlando Sentinel basketball writer, took note of Dwightbound.com Sunday in a column on where the Magic go from here. He describes the site: "It reads, 'Still under construction,' and looks it. They have Dwight, in black and white, wearing a Nets jersey. Under 'Ownership,' it details rapper Jay-Z's involvement." Schmitz also notes a competing site, put together by his newspaper: pleasestaydwight.com, where you can dress Howard up in a variety of NBA uniforms and even the Harlem Globetrotters colors, but curiously not the Nets. That'll change.

Some Nets fans have set up a website to encourage the front office to pursue Dwight Howard and paint a portrait of what a D12/D-Will combo could look like. Stefan Bondy takes note of DwightBound.com but adds, "Nets fans haven’t learned that it’s the player you don’t chase (Deron Williams), who ends up on the team." Nets fans aren't alone. In an exchange of tweets, D-Will's personal assistant, Matt Mitnick, tells Jared Dudley that if he was Howard, "I'd go to brooklyn."
