Nets Notes

The Nets continue to be in trade discussions with Charlotte, which is desperate for frontcourt help, but they don’t have the expendable post player Larry Brown wants. The Bobcats are willing to part with Gerald Wallace for a player of consequence, but are more actively pushing Matt Carroll or Adam Morrison, mindful that the Nets are shooter-crazy these days.

  1. I don’t even see why the Nets want to deal with the Bobcats in the first place. Do the Nets really want a shooter THAT badly? I mean Carroll’s contract is huge (18 million for 4 years if I remember correctly) and in order for us to get him the Cats would need to take back Swift or Hassell for the salaries to even match. Unless the Bobcats are willing to offer Gerald Wallace and Carroll for Boone, Williams, Swift, and Hassell, the salaries will not match. Plus I don’t even think I would take the deal if I were the Nets if a pick or two wasn’t included. It just seems like a complicated situation for me and I don’t see any trade happening between these two teams.
