Press Release
Will facilitate branding partnerships for sports and entertainment facilities
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, an affiliate of Nets Sports and Entertainment, LLC and the Nets basketball team, is launching a naming rights division to facilitate sports and entertainment venues in securing naming rights partners. An announcement will be made within 30 days to unveil the name of this new division and some of its current clients.
The new division comes on the heels of January’s major announcement of the naming of the Barclays Center, the Nets planned new home in Brooklyn. The significant 20-year naming rights agreement was secured by Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment.
More recently, at the request of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA), Nets Sports and Entertainment was asked to explore and identify potential prospects for the naming rights to Continental Airlines Arena. After an extensive search of companies, Nets Sports and Entertainment targeted the apparel industry due to the arena’s close proximity to the fashion capital of the world and the planned Xanadu development.
The result was that Nets Sports and Entertainment secured the three companies that ultimately made naming rights bids for the arena: Izod, Rocawear, and Southpole.
The arena’s new name is expected to be announced tomorrow when the NJSEA holds its monthly board meeting.
"With our demonstrated success this year for generating naming rights partnerships in the nation’s number one media market, we have been approached by a number of facilities and brands throughout the country to seek our assistance in coordinating alliances in this field," said Brett Yormark, President and CEO of Nets Sports and Entertainment and its Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment affiliate. "We feel that there’s an untapped role in this marketplace and that we’re well-suited to be a leader in the industry."
