If the Nets are to avoid tieing the record for worst start in NBA history, pundits say this is their only chance. But the Kings have won six games (lost eight), they’re playing at home and they easily beat the Knicks Wednesday. The Kings had seven players in double figures in that game, six 23 or younger. Devin Harris starts for the first time since Game #2.

The Kings had an outstanding draft.
Tyreke Evans is the 2nd best player from the draft and this Casspi kid is a gamer.
I would have traded our Dallas 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder to get the 20th pick in the draft to get that kid.
November 26th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
This game is our last chance…good luck Nets
November 26th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Sorry, this team is not built for this. Book another 3 losses…. Our best chance will be against Charlotte or the Knicks after that. Double digits in the win column at the end of the season will be a serious accomplishment for this squad. Even the 6ers squad that finished with the worst record ever had more talent than this roster.
November 26th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
who ever put together such a crappy roster should be forced to coach them…kiki? now we know how valuable VC was to the team, look how far we’ve skidded since his departure? This trade isn’t working out.
November 26th, 2009 at 6:32 pm
We’ll be lucky if this team gets a bid to the NCAA tourney…
Hollah!

November 26th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
The roster is not bad, their luck is. The defense is vastly improved over past years as expected. Devin Harris finds his shot and this team will win some games. Brook Lopez is having a great follow-up season in spite of being the only consistent option out there in the early going too. For as many shots as this team has missed and as many ensuing fast break points they have given up, it is amazing they are a mid-tier defensive team.
November 26th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
mid-tier defensive team??? what the been Nets opponents’ field goal pct the past 10 games (vs their season avg)?
November 26th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Lets try this starting lineup:
PLEASE!
Devin
CDR
Terrence
Sean
Brook
All my friends and family who do not follow basketball have been coming up to me and jokingly asking me what the Nets record is? They have been getting recognized now! For the wrong reasons, lol. Lets get a win against the Kings!
November 26th, 2009 at 9:01 pm
Finally Harris is starting. Brook and Harris have got to take over offensively.
I wanna see more running, push the ball Harris.
November 26th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
@JustinNJ
for sure, that’s our best starting 5 right now.
Courtney is a bum.
November 26th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
@JohnY
Go back and look at the numbers for last year when we were at the bottom of the league in 3pt defense
This year blocks are up, 3 pt defense is now 11th best in the league, fg defense is at 14th. This is in spite of missed shots leading to all kinds of layups and wide open 3s in the stretches of these games. So it isn’t a stretch to say that the improvement is not meaningless.
If you want to skew numbers take Cleveland’s opening 5 games when they started off 0-3 and see how much it means. The fact is this team has been rotating players in and out and considering the injuries and roster options that Frank has had they should have tanked to the bottom but they haven’t. They have been very competitive with almost nothing offensively.
November 26th, 2009 at 9:14 pm

0-20 here we come
November 26th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
@ jarkid – If you don’t think Courtney Lee should start, then neither should Chris Douglas-Roberts.
Here is what our starting lineup should look like until(unless) Lee shows he is something more than a system guy:
PG – Devin Harris
SG – Terrence Williams
SF – Trenton Hassell
PF – Sean Williams
C – Brook Lopez
November 26th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
@dieHard
CDR is our 2nd-leading scorer, he should start no doubt.
November 26th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
Nets new big 3:
Lopez, CDR, Harris.
LOL
November 26th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
kg, you’re right, i’m wrong. i reviewed our defensive stats and its not as bad as my impressions. our opponent’s FG% is actually lower than their season avg. i guess we just don’t have enough fire power.
November 26th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Our defense has been much better and that is what keeps us in games. The offense, however, has been awful.
November 26th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
@ jarkid – You don’t put all your offense in the starting lineup unless you have 5 good defenders coming off the bench, which we do not.
November 26th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
@ Jarkid – No: It should be: Devin Harris, Terrence Williams, Sean Williams.
November 26th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Where the blazes is Yi?
Is the guy out for the season?
November 26th, 2009 at 10:41 pm

you really like T-Will and S-Will.
November 26th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
i am watching boozer right now.
boozer on our team right now = .500 record easy.
November 26th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
i rather be an over powered offensive team like PHX than a defensive, injury plagued, depressing, bad to worst, 0-16 team.
Sigh!!!
Kings will OWN us hard
cmon we need a new front office and a new coach
November 27th, 2009 at 1:05 am
this team cant get easy baskets or hit shots…this is why we’re losing.
New Jersey 30th in FG%:0.404
November 27th, 2009 at 1:33 am
This is going to be a brutal loss. This team is done.
Fire frank, send Courtney Lee to the d leagues
November 27th, 2009 at 1:52 am
Frank is stubborn he goes with the same starting lineups all the time and has no creativity. Obviously what he is doing isn’t working. Whenever brook and Sean play together we play good, but he constantly starts Josh at of. Hassell shouldn’t be starting right now and simmons does nothing but kill us. Start Harris terrence cdr swat and brook. Frank think man u are embarresing every net fan!!!!!!
November 27th, 2009 at 3:28 am
Dudes. It doesn’t matter who starts. The players are not that good. The Nets woud have needed so many things to go right to win like 30 games. Instead, so many things have gone wrong. Talking about S. Williams starting like that means anything is nice. But you need a high level NBA player to score close to 20 pts at that position to make a difference. But yeah, he should play since they don’t win anyway.
The only somewhat bright spot has been CDR’s scoring ability, which you must take with a grain of salt considering the circumstances. But still the guy seems like a gamer who could get better.
November 27th, 2009 at 3:36 am
the Nets are only 6 games out of a playoff spot right now…. how’s that for hilarity?
November 27th, 2009 at 6:18 am
The Kings don’t have many healthy guards, beyond Tyreke Evans and Sergio Rodriguez. Devin Harris and CDR must take advantage. Brook Lopez should take advantage of Spencer Hawes. Start Terrence Williams at small forward and he’ll run Andres Nocioni silly all over the court.
What I’m saying is that if the Nets don’t dial it in like they did in Denver, there are matchups that win this game.
November 27th, 2009 at 6:49 am
BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON!
November 27th, 2009 at 7:00 am
I wonder how the nets are gonna win against the kings. its not that easy, cos for the last game against the knicks sacramento used the following starting line up
1. tyreke evans – 6′6
2. andres nociono – 6′7 or 6′8
3. donte greene – 6′11
4. jason thompson – 6′11
5. spencer hawes – 7′1
and on the bench they have got the casspi kid, he is extremely tough – fearless is the word.
sergio rodriguez is a good PG too.
now if we play small ball against that line up, with simmons or hassel as the power forward, thats gonna look so bad.
I dunno if the nets have anyone to guard jason thompson and tyreke evans. its been a long time since i posted something on this site. since VC has moved to the magic, i come now and then to see wats happening here. Nets daily is a great site, compared to what the magic have. they should probably call it orlando magic weekly.com.
November 27th, 2009 at 7:13 am
@Ben
I sure think Frank is stubborn, and I like Swat, but Boone is a superior player to him.
November 27th, 2009 at 7:34 am
Brook needs to get the ball down low on the blocks early and often.
Brook has some of the best offensive moves for a center in the NBA
He can face up and shoot or go to the basket.
Brook needs to recognize the double team earlier but, the open man needs to know where to be also.
Brook had been playin give and go with CDR off the pick, with DH back on the court there should be more space for Brook and CDR.
DH needs to penetrate and pass instead of shooting so much
November 27th, 2009 at 8:19 am
I had not realized how good the Kings are. I know 6-8 doesn’t sound good but I would have expected their record to be like ours – they are missing their most noteworthy player in KMartin and also Udrih,, their supposed PG, and Garcia who always hurts the Nets because they defend the arc so poorly. Instead the Kings are 6-8! They have drafted very well. It looks like they don’t D very well so we have to hope we do and that makes the difference. Would like to see Twill on Evans. Alston and DH cannot stop him, if anybody.
No offense to Courtney Lee but Thorn should have taken the Magic’s first offer and we would still have Ryan Anderson who is better than any of the 4s on our roster, plus Pietrus to boot.
November 27th, 2009 at 8:47 am
@andres
Laughable… Boone brings nothing to the table. Still waiting on Boone to draw a charge or deliver one JUST ONE real foul to stop a lay-up.
The Williams/Lopez combination has been much more effective on defense than Boone/Lopez.
I’ll take Sean over an erratic Boone any day because at least Williams makes positive impact on the game most of the time in spite of the mistakes he makes. Boone compounds his problems by being terrible at the line and rushing shots to avoid fouls. At least Williams knows how to foul to stop a lay-up too.
November 27th, 2009 at 9:06 am
We’re gonna set the record for futility if we don’t win tonight. And I don’t think we will win. I don’t see enough offensive firepower in our current unit to get the job done, and our record is a direct result of not having enough offensive weapons. Defensively, we’re doing yeoman’s work, considering the lack of players we’ve had over the course of this season. I want to be proven wrong, but I don’t see us beating anyone until we settle into a regular rotation, Lee gets his shot back, and Lopez/ Harris continue to develop the chemistry between each other again.
Even if we do begin to win, they will come few and far between. We simply don’t have the offensive weaponry. I would normally be calling for LFrank’s head also, but he’s not the reason we’re off to such a bad start this season. He has nothing to work with. We will only improve as many of our younger players gain more experience over time, which bodes well for us at the end of the season or next year, but not now.
November 27th, 2009 at 9:09 am
Which is laughable is to say that Boone brings nothing to the table. Boone leads this team in rbs p48min. He’s our best rebounder, period. He’s a solid defender. We need both of those things next to Brook.
I like Swat too, but I dont see him as a starter. He’s an energizer coming off the bench. He’s a guy you cant play more than 20 minutes a night at best, because he fouls too much to begin with. You have to find a way to make him more effective, and that’s not starting him. He can help you a lot in short spurts, and I love the energy and toughness this kid brings and how much he hustles, but Boone is the better overall player, IMO.
November 27th, 2009 at 9:12 am
why is it so hard for boone to shoot?
November 27th, 2009 at 9:31 am
@ mt57 – for Thorn to have been able to take that offer, Ratner would have had to swallow far more money then he was willing to back on draft night.
November 27th, 2009 at 9:45 am
Here’s the thing Andres why are these teams jumping out in the early third quarter and early first quarter so much? Yet when Swat comes in nearly all of these lay-ups are stopped and other teams have to work to score for once we start getting defensive stops. If Devin would have hit a few more shots it would have been blatantly obvious in plus/minus.
Boone is getting less than 15 minutes a night on most occasions because his rebounding is not as good as it statistically seems because he does not convert his offensive rebounds into points. Swat does a much better job in second chance points. Boone’s rebounding against Denver was entirely uncontested on defensive boards which is a nice way to say they were rebounds anyone could have picked up including Alston. Boone’s rebounding does not justify him being on the floor. He is not a solid team defender and I can’t call him a solid individual defender when he constantly got beat by Aldrige and Swat comes in and spikes his shot left and right. Part of being a solid defender his not giving up 3 point plays. Jason Collins knew how to do it so he earned a good rep. Boone doesn’t have the mentality to do it and will never do it. He needs to be inactive.
November 27th, 2009 at 9:54 am
@kg
Idk, I think Boone hits the board much, much harder than Swat, who btw I dont think is that much better offensively than Josh.
I like Swat and Im the first one who has been looking forward to see Frank giving him more PT, but I dont think it should be at Boone’s expense. Josh is not perfect, but he does his job.
I absolutely love the way Boone was playing since Yi went down til the Orlando game, then Opie decided it was small ball/ matchup time and Josh’s minutes were reduced. He even was adding a nice short jumper.

http://www.82games.com/0910/0910NJN.HTM
There are some real statistics to look at which are in depth if you want an illustration of what I am seeing. Our top player by their rating (a way to measure actual game impact) is Sean Williams followed by Devin Harris. Boone is at the bottom with Najera.
Boone concentrates on defensive rebounds and Swat goes for blocks. Sean’s approach is impacting the game and Boone’s isn’t. Boone had several very dismal showings that led Frank to play Simmons who is still shooting in the 30s after being down in the 20s during that time period. Frank obviously is going. He was benched against Orlando because his focus went wayward again. As a starter he has historically done that where his effectiveness declined and his defensive awareness waned.
Williams is better offensively than Boone at setting picks, hitting free throws, finishing plays, second chance points, and at collecting offensive rebounds (Boone taps around a lot of them)
Boone is better with a short jump shot, passing, and at moving on offense.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:15 am
Our starters match up fairly well if CDR can keep Tyreke Evans busy all night and Josh Boone keeps a body on Jason Thompson. Lopez v. Hawes should be interesting. I picture Lopez doing to Hawes what Bogut did to him in Milwaukee. His offensive repertoire should be too much for him. My biggest concern is our All-Star, surprisingly enough. Harris should have a tough time matching up against Tyreke Evans, who will downright muscle him up and wear him down every chance he gets and Beno Udrih, who has been on a rather surprising scoring tear of late.
Is there any way we can match the toughness and intensity of Jon Brockman, Omri Casspi and Ime Udoka off the bench or Donte Green’s strange mix of build and skill set? I like Sean Williams stuck on Green all night if Sean doesn’t get baited into fouls off Green’s dribble. I just don’t see how we’re going to match up against their active big bodies off the bench. Bobby Simmons getting into it with Omri Casspi is very likely tonight.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:16 am
I haven’t had my coffee yet. Sorry for the poor paragraph structure.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:22 am
@kg
“Boone had several very dismal showings that led Frank to play Simmons”
Come on… Frank started to reduce Boone’s PT that Orlando game because the Magic had no PF (Bass and Anderson were out) and they were playing with Barnes at the 4, so Opie just wanted to adjust. The same way he sent Josh to the bench against the Pacers to start Hassell at the PF b/c Indiana plays Granger at the 4. The Knicks had Gallinari playing the 4. I could go on.
Boone has done a decent job so far, and he was esp doing a terrific job before that game against the Magic.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:41 am
If he could impact a game he wouldn’t be benched for a guy shooting 20%. Putting in Simmons for defense is like putting in Boone to ice a game at the line. His plus/minus is only slightly better than Josh.
Sorry, one 3 game stretch says nothing for showing no impact for the majority of the games and it is clearly spelled out in the 82 games stats, plus minus, and wins and losses. Frank will just have to learn the hard way apparently. Stubbornness to not see clearly what is happening and adjusting accordingly will doom him.
What’s your excuse for the Miami game? He played 26 minutes and did nothing while the team floundered. Sean comes in and bam everything turns around on a dime. Najera was equally worthless in that game. That was Sean’s breakout game and Boone’s minutes have deteriorated since then. While Sean’s offensive explosion in that game was due to defensive inattention of the Heat. Sean’s impact on defense has continued. The Lopez/Williams lineup is the best we have.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:54 am
Can anyone find a link that would show the production of a five-man unit with minutes played together? Although I see Swat averages 2.6 fouls for the 12.9 min. he plays, I’m guessing that he is worse at center cuz he is always with a small PF and most of his minutes have been played at the 5. Based on these numbers he can’t play more than 25 minutes without fouling out and statistically speaking he is the most productive player with Lopez. The problem is he can’t stay out of foul trouble. Even thou the coach is playing Boone and Swat more at PF and slowing the game down which has us as the 8th best defensive team its clear that we struggle offensively. With Boone averaging 18 min, Lopez 35 and Swat about 13 that 30 minutes a game where we play small (96 min PF & C – 66 ave. min for the 3 bigs) or weak when Yi is playing and it’s really more cuz for the most part up until recently it was only one big at a time. If you go small you’re easily defended and it’s harder to defend. Hassel averages about 36 min. a game which is way more than he should play. Although TWill is shooting 36% he is much more athletic and Opie should tell him to shoot only if he is around the rim or with < 5 seconds left on the clock. He's taken 42 3pt attempts to Hassel's 2. TWill has to stop taking 3's. His athleticism is wasted with that kind of shooting. Simmons is in the same boat as far as shooting bad from the 3pt line. What’s worse is he and Hassel are both slow and can't jump so they can't defend, rebound or drive with good results. Last year most of our wins were led by our guards and with VC gone and Harris injured what little we had was gone. A lot of people believe Harris is a “me first player” but I believe he should have the ball most of the time to make plays.
In conclusion the lineup of Lopez, Swat, TWill, CDR & Harris should start with Lopez, Harris and TWill playing most of the game, Swat playing as much as possible, Lee the backup SG and Boone should backup the 4 & 5. CDR should backup Twill and Alston backup Harris. The key imo is keeping Swat on the court at only the PF position.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:59 am
“If he could impact a game he wouldn’t be benched for a guy shooting 20%. Putting in Simmons for defense is like putting in Boone to ice a game at the line.”
So when Frank benches Josh to go small w/ Simmons at the 4 it’s because Boone cant impact a game, but when he benches Sean and goes small it’s because Frank is stubborn, I love it!
Not that Im defending Opie, I hate it when he goes small, but the reason why he reduced Boone’s PT during that stretch is because those teams play small and Frank likes to adjust to the opponent’s system (you know, we dont have an identity and things like that), not because Josh had “dismal showings that led Frank to play Simmons”.
And yes, Boone had a bad game in Miami so what? Sean has had worse games than that this year.
Again, I really like Sean, and yes, he should get PT ahead of done bums like Najera and Battie (if they ever come back and play again for us)or Simmons (which is just a disgraceful option at the 4), but I dont think Swat should start for us. He needs to be brought off the bench in short spurts to spark the team, thats the way he’s more effective. Boone has done a fairly decent job this season, and IMO is the far more solid player. He can rebound the basketball, play solid D, not lose defensive assingments and not pile up personal fouls that quick. Thats why he’s more ready to play more minutes.
He’s not half as spectacular as Swat but he gets the job done. What happens if you start Swat and get 2-3 early fouls? You have to re-adjust the entire gameplan again. He’s better suited to bring his game-chaning energy adn hustle off the bench and spark the team when they need to change the momentum of the game.
November 27th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
Beware Sean May, the Net killer!
November 27th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
For all the talk to Sean being out of position on defense, he sure seems to draw a lot of charges(even some blocking fouls that should have been charges, but the refs dont give it to him). Also, Frank needs to realize Sean may be out of position but he’s fast enough and has a long enough reach/jumping ability to recover a lot of the time. If you go back and watch the games you can see Sean sometimes coming from the foul line to make a play on the ball(shot block, or to make the offensive player double clutch/adjust). You can hear Frank screaming at him to move to different spots on the floor. I’d like to see a couple games of him letting Sean play without yelling instructions, I think Sean could be capable of adjusting to the situations on the floor in which case maybe Frank needs to coach him differently to maximize his output. I’d let him roam as a shot-blocker, if the opponent doesnt know where he’s coming from it may take an extra second to adjust and in that time he might be able to get the block/change the shot.

During NBATV’s preview of the NJ Nets season, Chris Webber stated that the Nets would be the “2008 Detroit Lions” of the NBA. FYI, the Lions were winless in 2008.
I thought Webber was crazy for saying that we’d be one of the worst teams in the league but so far he’s been absolutely right! We are still winless!!!
We need this win tonight since this is our best chance to end the streak! The Nets have become the leading story on ESPN and our brand is being destroyed with each mounting loss towards this dubious winless record to start a season.
We need this win against the Kings tonight! Lawrence Frank; coach this game like it’s Game 7 of the NBA Finals because it’s very likely your job can only be saved temporarily by us not attaining this horrific record.
Nets players; no layups allowed, give hard fouls, play every possession like it’s the final possession of a tie game. Brook Lopez; take over the game and let everyone know you are the upcoming dominant center in this league. Devin Harris; bring back memories of last year when you dropped 40 points and got 10 assists like it was nothing.
Sean Williams; keep your energy up and keep swatting those shots. CDR; keep playing with that chip on your shoulder, we all knew you were first round talent even though the rest of the league shunned you; we are proud of your progress and grit this year. T- Will; take it to the hole strong; take less jumpers for now…I want you to try and stuff the opposing players into the basket whenever you get the slightest chance. The rest of the squad; play hard!!!
I’ve been a Nets fan for over 20 years; I don’t want to be associated with this losing record. Do it for the fans that have been here through it all…from the fleeting old days of Derrick Coleman, Kenny Anderson and Drazen Petrovich to the glory years of Kidd, Kmart and RJ. Do it for the fans that didn’t just show up for the Jason Kidd years… Do it for the fans who were there when we had the under-rated Mookie Blaylock, Chris Morris, Benoit Benjamin, etc…
Win this game for the fans who have always stuck by the Nets no matter what even when we passed on Danny Granger for Antoine Wright when most of us on this forum including myself was pleading for Granger.
Get this win for us tonight; we (fans, players, coaches) all deserve better than this; we MUST NOT get that losing record. Do whatever it takes; leave your hearts out on that court, get this win tonight!
Let’s go Nets!!!
November 27th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
@andres and @kg re Boone v. Swat. Both of you guys make good points. Both players have strengths amd weakness and hopefully at least one if not both can emerge as solid NBA back up 4’s. Too bad it took injuries for us to finally get the glimpses of what they can do. Wouldn’t it be nice tho to see the combined minutes for both going up to 40 or so instead of down to 25 while Frank does his small ball thing with trent and Bobby to say nothing of when Yi and Jarvis come back
November 27th, 2009 at 4:07 pm
It looks like things have deteriorated to a discussion about who is “better” Boone or S. Williams. What a sorry state of affairs fro this team.
Anybody who isn’t totally biased (like if you’re a UCONN fan and you think Boone is Karl Malone) knows that these guys are only worthy of minutes on teams with many other players scoring. So that they can do what they can do, which is grab a rebound and block a shot. That is all they can do. These 2 are the biggest bricklayers around. Boone misses more chippies that I can count. But he has a better overall feel for the game than S. Williams (ain’t saying much).
Even sorrier is that Simmons has now become as useless offensively as these 2 guys, even more so. And since Simmons can’t guard anybody or rebound at all, it makes it look like Boone or S. Williams “should play”.
Boone or S. Williams do not have to be guarded by the other team, which makes Lopez’s life a living hell. Simmons doesn’t have to be guarded anymore either – big problem. Boone or S. Williams can not guard Barnes, Granger, Thad Young, Gallinari, etc. These guys have to be guarded. You don’t gain anything by leaving Boone or S. Williams in the game against players with skill, who can still guard Boone or S. Williams because of their lack of skill.
The Nets need that type of tweener forward. More than 1. A guy that must be guarded by the other team (unlike Boone and S. Williams). Yi s not that guy, neither is Hayes, or Simmons or Najera etc etc etc.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
If Lopez’s living hell is 18 points and 8 rebounds, I’d take that any day.
Thaddeus Young is not skilled and can be guarded by Boone or Williams for that matter. Gallinari is little more than a 3 point gunner and he can be run off of his shot. Let Barnes shoot from the perimeter all night if he wants and he’ll shoot his team out of the game. Granger is the only one that is a threat of the ones you mention and now that Murphy is back that lineup is shelved.
Current game… Boone is minus 10 again by giving up 3 consecutive easy layups before committing a real foul on the 5th attempt. Now is too late because Sacto is now in rhythm and playing well. You have to stop the parade to the basket from the start. Now we have our hands full for tonight down 14 now.
Williams starts and this is a different game at the start. And Miami chose to not guard Sean and paid for it. He has to be respected on the offensive boards and if he isn’t he gets Lopez and the others more attempts.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
Very nice to see Frank make the adjustment to pressure these guys and disrupt them.
November 28th, 2009 at 12:49 am
@Andres
I think the point was pretty clear that Sean can impact a game where the small lineup and Boone don’t and that is on defense. The Lopez Williams combo needs to get more run. There is no contradiction in that.
I will give you this… besides the 5 layups Boone missed and the 4 he gave up he did show something on offense by finishing a few of them.
Williams gave up a few today too and didn’t score much. Sean’s foul problems stem from him trying to make an impact in the short runs he is allowed. He has shown many times this year that he can avoid fouls when in the past we would have went over the back or attempted to block one he had no shot to get. I think he would be just fine as a starter. Boone, on the other hand, doesn’t use his fouls effectively. This team can make no excuses for allowing 3 consecutive layups at the start of the game right at the rim. We were in a 10 point hole halfway through the first.
We aren’t building the gameplan around our worst position. But it would help to have these guys stop layups at the very least. I actually like Battie too as another guy that could cover any sort of foul trouble. Battie has more offense than Boone and Williams, and plays good defense on the interior.
