On Tuesday, the Nets couldn’t recover from a poor start to the game. On Wednesday in Milwaukee, it was the start of the third quarter that did them in. The Bucks scored the first 15 points of the third, and the Nets went from a seven-point halftime lead to an eight-point deficit, never able to recover after that. They trailed by nine after three and a 10-1 Milwaukee run early in the fourth put the game away. After scoring 41 points in the first half, the Bucks scored 58 after the break, shooting 48 percent from the field for the game. Chris Douglas-Roberts and Terrence Williams each recorded double-doubles, combining for 51 points and 20 boards, but Rafer Alston had his third straight poor-shooting night. He’s 6-31 from the field since Saturday.

were going 0-17 were not beating knicks on sat because r defense sucks and they have too much offense and we always suck during thanksgiving trip. the laker game should be a huge blowout lol. woo fire frank
November 18th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Everyone now just care his stat.
No more comment…
November 18th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
man you know its getting bad when i can’t even hate on the nets playing, but pissed at devin harris for still being injured.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Nets only have a few NBA caliber players healthy right now. Brook, CDR, and TWill. But all three are inconsistent to some degree. CDR is probably our best player right now, and he should probably be a 6th man on a good team at this point in his career.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
does anyone know devins suprise??
November 18th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
I really think this was Franks last game or if we lose Saturday it will be. He seemed really upset after the lose and just mad.
We were up at half and were losing by like 20 a quarter later. Nets are playing horrible, I am disgusted!
November 18th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
Tonight was tough to watch. Love the effort of CDR though.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
Here’s some positives for everyone:
Devin Harris, who hasn’t played since Oct. 30, had a long pregame warmup here in his hometown building Wednesday night. When asked whether he’ll play Saturday, he didn’t hesitate. “Yeah,” he said.
His conditioning isn’t where it should be (“Fatigue, I can fight through,” he said), but that’s not the issue.
“It feels fine. No pain. There’s some tightness and soreness,” Harris said. “That’s normal, because I haven’t been able to do anything the last two weeks — things I can overcome just getting out on the floor.”
Meanwhile, Rod Thorn said that Courtney Lee would be back either Saturday or “shortly thereafter.”
The Nets president added that Tony Battie is just another week away, “so that’s three on the horizon that will help us,” Thorn said.

It sounded like a soccer game. Nice crowd, yormark should get the nets some crowd singers.cdr played well. Brook needs
an attitude check.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
CDR himself just said on the postgame
“They played like a team, they have a GOOD COACH im sure he told them to come out”
That just proves the players are upset with the lack of knowledge and effort Frank puts out..Im sick of the excuses how we are losing players if we are up by a certain amount of points just like a couple times this year we need to keep it, we cant let comebacks, buzzers, fouls prevent us from winning!
FRANK YOU HAVE TO GO
November 18th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
12 team assists. hahahaha. love this “team”
November 18th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
HE HAD every right to be angry. The majority of the team is injured and Frank his him playing a role which is no for him.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
I really can’t wait until all of our guys comeback. Im just curious to see how well we play. I hope we at least win against the Knicks because if we don’t win that game then we would most likely be on a very long losing streak after that game.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
I’m really tired of the CDR haters
CDR held Melo to 6 points in the first half and scored 17 on him
6th man ?
CDR may have the best midrange jumper on the team
Fire frank period
November 18th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
lets replace frank with bryon scott or jeff van gundy i dont think are assistants can coach or have the experience
November 18th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
I don’t think they are a selfish group by any means. You cannot rack up assists when there is such difficulty in converting field goals, and a lack of players who can get into the lane to drop it off to teammates for high percentage shots.
In any case, we are very shorthanded. This is a season of rebuilding, focusing on the development of the young players, and snagging a high draft selection. Hopefully this season is the sour before the sweet.
Get a top 3 draft pick, and if they have no chance at Lebron and Bosh, I would focus on Joe Johnson who is a legit superstar, and Carlos Boozer who would give us consistent production at the PF spot. A good rebounder and low post scorer to play off of Brook.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
First of all to all you CDR haters… i told ya so.
2nd of all if this isnt the last straw for frank then there wont be one. Its just the same thing every night and obviously he doesnt address it. start of 1st and 3trd quarters
FIRE FRANK TONIGHT!
November 18th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
SLOPEZ had only 4 REBOUNDS….Bogut ran circles around him both physically and mentally….SWILL plays alot better than him when SWILL gets in….fronk should have started the 3rd quarter with the unit who was on a roll in the 2nd …But that would be to sensible…Bill Lambier , Where are you ??????
November 18th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
this team really sucks. and the coach sucks.
how can they always collapse in the 3rd qtr?
Courtney Lee is the last one to prove himself,
CDR proves himself, so does T-Will.
But now Lee looks like a bum.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Guys Lopez has nothing going that better he has nobody to help him, look at our assistant coaches who are they? Plus we have no veteran big man except Battie who is out.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
How do they collapse in the 3rd quarter…? Well that’s the simpiliest answer in the the world @ jarkid
When you only have 8 available players and you just had back to back games home then road your gonna be tired and lack energy. You ppl act like its easy when you play consecutive mins back to back they’re only human not machines!
November 18th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Lee can’t look like a bum if he doesn’t play.
Brook played too many minutes last night – and in the 2nd game of a back to back he was fatigued. Plus he is playing too much on the perimeter – but that is the way they are running the offense at the moment.
CDR is getting better and better every night. He is going to be a very special player. If he is not a starter for the Nets in the future – he is going to be one of the most dangerous 6th men in the league. Book it.
TWill is continuing to improve. His problem has been that he is playing all over the place – its hard enough to adapt as a rookie – but when you are forced to play ever positoin on the floor its going to be a rocky transition.
SWill is playing well – if anything maybe that increases his trade value to Milwaukee for Joe Alexander.
And Boone is playing well for what should be a backup big man. I still think we should resign him this summer. he will not have big offers on the table – and the Nets can probably get him on the cheap. He is a capable backup PF/C on this team in the future.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Honestly, I’m surprised these 8 guys are racking up injuries themselves due to all the minutes they’ve been putting in.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Sorry, I meant “are NOT racking up injuries”
November 18th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
@ mikee21
We never talk about only one game, it’s a long trend for the Nets.
Do you still forget we scored 7 points on Bobcats in the 3rd qtr without b2b?
I am not even talking about this season, it’s always the problem in the last few seasons.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
And you can not call for Frank’s head. This is a rebuilding season. Always was a rebuilding season. And now he has 8 guys to work with – and that has not even been consistent. The fact that the Nets have a chance to win almost every game going into the final few minutes is a testament to his coaching. People need to wake up and smell the coffee – this is not a good team – this team is put together for a youth movement and rebuilding through the draft (this year) and free agency.
If anything – this is the perfect season thus far for that plan. CDR, Brook and TWill are playing extended minutes, Boone and now Swat are getting a chance to develop and the Nets are getting the opportunity to showcase Alston and Simmons and Hassell for possible midseason trades.
They are staying competitive in games so its not horrible to watch yet are on course to have a top 3 pick.
If you are going to commit to youth and to rebuilding – then you have to fully commit. Teams like the Knicks that suck year in and year out – never fully commit to any rebuilding plan – hence never improve. 3 years ago the Celtics were horrible. Then they won the Championship and are now considered in the top echelon of the league. But without developing Rondo and getting some good picks (Powe, Big Baby) they are not a championship team.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
NetIncome is LF boning ur wife ??
November 18th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
I think we should all stop commenting on this site till the nets actually win a game, this jus really horrible.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
@ Chase
I agree with you!
November 18th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
@ NetFan4
Of course i am not going to call you names because I understand you are entitled to your opinions, but what i will do is respectfully invite you to think about the first sentence/segment of your post. Slopez??? Really??? Do you realize that he has logged more minute than any other Net this season, and that last night he played over 46 mins??? Remember, he is 7 feet tall and he is carrying 268 pounds of bones and muscle around. The guy is exhausted. Do you realize he played much better after he had that long rest??? Just think about it.
November 18th, 2009 at 11:56 pm
@ Ray
Look man, you are very upset right now. Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to post comments a little later.
November 19th, 2009 at 12:11 am
can somebody please get alston off the team
November 19th, 2009 at 12:23 am
The Majic miss Alston now…
November 19th, 2009 at 12:57 am
Congratulations to CDR on his 2nd double double in his career, and a new NBA career high. All I have to say is give him the ball! This is a All American here on ur team! What else do u want? The other team members can step their game up, but obviously CDR gets down to business when he’s on the court. Learn to get down with the Hyphenation of the Douglas-Roberts!
November 19th, 2009 at 1:22 am
@djheavyduty I Agree 100% with ur post 4 CDR Haters
November 19th, 2009 at 1:43 am
THere are so many haters in Nets fanbase and it’s not even funny. I’m not sure if it’s a phenomenon of loosing.
Welcome to post-Carter era, if you consider something like this as an era. Injury is part of the equation; I”m sorry but the Bucks do not have a more talented roster than we do. THey just grew a lot quicker together than these Nets. It’s ridiculous! We did lose games with Harris, with Lee…so make no more excuse. GOod luck finding top notch FAs!!!
November 19th, 2009 at 6:16 am
eiiii Aiiii…
November 19th, 2009 at 6:35 am
CDR has been held back by Frank a long time. Thorn keeps drafting “good defenders” but mediocre shooting talent. I would think what counts in the game are points. More points and you win. Defense is a matter of desire. A good shooter does not necessarily rule out a desire to defend. And Frank’s philosophy goes overboard as far as defense.
November 19th, 2009 at 7:08 am
Say what you will about swat but he plays some good defense. he did a great job on granger and then a pretty decent job on bogut. great jobs boxing out almost everytime down the floor and chasing down loose balls. Frank needs to put him on harrington on sat. harrington loves killing the nets for some reason.
simmons is atrocious. i truly believe no team will pick him up next season.
I pray we get our 1st victory against the knicks, that will make all this losing bearable.
November 19th, 2009 at 7:08 am
LFrank has to go
If your team is getting outscored 12- or 15-0 to start the 3rd Q
Its the coaches fault
3rdQ. Has been this teams problem for years
Even when the big 3 was playing in NJ 3rdQ the team would come out of halftime flat
Blame frank
Fire frank
November 19th, 2009 at 8:02 am
You guys realize that you could fire frank, get Jesus to coach this 8-man team and things wouldn’t be any different? Every single team in the league loses leads. From the Lakers all the way down to us, it’s a normal occurence. You don’t think it would be harder for the rebuilding team with only 8 players to hold a lead?
And for everyone clamoring to get the ball in CDR’s hands, he played 45 out of 48 minutes already! You realize that one guy can’t do it all himself. It’s a TEAM sport
November 19th, 2009 at 8:09 am
i feel so bad for CDR and Brook
they take these loses personal
you can see it on their faces
im tired of franks voice
im sure this team is also
wheres latrell spreewell when you need him?
November 19th, 2009 at 8:13 am
@KJV……Physically , Brook is still only ,what,21 ???And he should be in excellent shape…..But when I refer to him as SLOPEZ as someone else did before me….I’m leaning more towards his mental awareness on the court…..He is Lost out there….And once again , This most probably is to blame on frank’s systems or frank in general or the assistant coaches ,etc…..With any other coach , Brook would be a Star by now….Look at SWILL ….He just goes out there and plays ball and he is doing so much better…In a recent post , I stated that frank Cramps players styles…So I must say Thanks for bringing that to my attention….It’s frank , Not Lopez…So I will no longer refer to him by that terrible name…I was really high on Brook when we drafted him and I still am…We really need to get rid of frank….He is ruining these young guys…..”frank Happens”
November 19th, 2009 at 8:42 am
They should change their name to the “Nots”.
November 19th, 2009 at 8:56 am
To me it’s clear we only have one group that currently is healthy that could compete. Lopez, Swat, TWill, CDR and Alston. Boone is ok as a backup but Simmons and Hassel are poison. Why? Cuz they can’t get off the floor. Did anyone notice that when Hassel guarded Wade for that last shot he didn’t even jump? Players who can’t jump are poison and we have a coach that likes them at PF so it’s simply makes a bad situation worse. For those who think that we’ll be better when the team is healthy, you’re in for a rude awakening. Remember we were healthy in preseason and were losing against rookies and scrubs with our starters on the court while healthy. If you chalk it up to preseason how about the first game against Minn. They haven’t won since. If we start Lopez and Swat and rotate Boone in, where each plays about 32 minutes it won’t matter about the other 3 positions as much. To me that’s all we got. I realize we suck and are built to lose a/k/a rebuild but I like to put myself in the position as the coach as see what it would take to win. What irony that the coach suffers with his style while the only way he could compete is with the player he hates the most playing a position he doesn’t like him at. The coach is one of a few who care about winning and he is clueless. The front office couldn’t care less, there are 7 injured players who are probably happy to be injured and a few healthy ones who don’t care. The 2009-10 Nets, it’s more than a game.
November 19th, 2009 at 9:36 am
@ Mr Big……I agree with alot of what you are saying…That group that you have as competing is an excellent choice…They should start and play most of the game….Unfortunately , This narrow – minded so called coach doesn’t see things the same way…..They play well , He takes them out and forgets to put them back in until we are behind by double digits again..He RUINS THEIR MOMEMENTUM…I also like Hassell with that group in place of Lopez….I disagree about Hassell….He rebounds,he is Strong and he plays tough….Maybe he can’t jump so well but he gets his share of boards….As far as him guarding Wade , Well , Once again , That is frunk’s fault…Wade should have been Double – Teamed on that play…Let someone else beat us….”frank Happens”
November 19th, 2009 at 9:37 am
The poor shooting I can understand because when your legs are tired, the jump shots are going to be the first to fail. But why isn’t anyone positioning themselves for the long rebounds that follow from missed jumpers? And that lazy handoff from CDR that Jennings stole just told all the difference between the two teams. CDR did have a great game otherwise. Hopefully he eliminates the “let’s give Rudy Gay a max contract” nonsense.
November 19th, 2009 at 9:46 am
CDR is awesome. Man I love this kid.
November 19th, 2009 at 10:42 am
CDR for most improved.
Im not surprised we lost against bucks, it was an announced dead.
Harris come back man, We need you hard
IF harris and Lee comes back we move to an 11 man rotation
Lopez——-Boone
Najera——SWat
CDR———Hassell
Lee———Twill
Harris——Alston
Simmons only if needed at SG or SF
So sad we need to depend on simmons
November 19th, 2009 at 10:57 am
Aside from the injuries the biggest problem right now is the players on the court don’t mesh well together. We don’t have anyone that can hit 3 pt shots other than Simmons. so everyone can crowd Brook and Brook isn’t polished enough to take double teams and still score down low. Alston doesn’t have a connection with the players that put them in position to score. Twill isn’t a real point guard and can’t really run the offense. so even though we have some talented individuals, none compliment each other. Last year hayes and Dooling played big roles in hitting big shots and playing tough D. We miss that. You can’t just look at these guys as individuals and think they are going to mesh just because they’re on the court. CDR has improved and Brook is a solid big man. But other than Brook, none of these other guys could start on most NBA teams.
November 19th, 2009 at 11:00 am
Rick Braun of NBA.com wrote:
“”We win as a team and lose as a team,” Nets coach Lawrence Frank said”
uhhh!!! What? Did he say we WIN? Win? Is that part of the Nets vocabs? Win? We’re talking about win, man! Win? Seriously, WIN? Win?
November 19th, 2009 at 11:07 am
@ NetsFan48
I agree. Brook is being put in a bad situation right now. I know we do not have too many bodies to throw around, but Jeezz! I know the guy looks like and loves Superman, but he is not Superman!!! The body gets tired!!!
November 19th, 2009 at 11:37 am
@ Netsfan48,
I agree completely. The unit that was on the floor in the 2nd quarter should have started the second half. The NBA is all about matchups; we were playing the best that I’ve seen all season in the 2nd quarter against the Bucks. The 3rd quarter was absolutely atrocious.
Though the loss hurts; Props to CDR and T-Will for their offense and aggressive play, props to SWAT for his solid defense, continuous movement on the floor setting picks and bringing energy to the court.
When Harris comes back; I’d like to see a core of Harris, CDR, T-Will, SWAT and Lopez getting majority of the minutes each game. I think these 5 players on the court together give us the best chance to get some wins.
Hope we beat the Knicks on Saturday.
Let’s go Nets!!!
November 19th, 2009 at 11:37 am
i was really hoping to see an article about the nets firing
and I was really hyped about it but noooooooo
mayb after we lose 30 games in a row
November 19th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
MANY PROPS to Sean Williams. Even with constant denigration from many on this site, Sean brings a toughness to this team’s defense that goes unmatched. That “heart” that CDR shows, Sean also displays. Sean can help this team. Giving him more opportunity to do so seems a given. For those who complain about Sean’s “inconsistency”, I’d rather Sean’s “inconsistent” effective play than another teammate’s constant incompetent play any game. Like Sean or not, he can help the Nets efforts to win. Shouldn’t that be the bottom line?
November 20th, 2009 at 4:49 am
@Jeff
Agreed! I love Sean’s hustle and energy.
