SLAM: Nets Need More “Spontaneity”

October 23, 2009, 10:20 pm

Buried in Jake Appleman’s free form season preview–beneath the “Free Beadle” signs, the requisite Marv Albert toupee joke and the story of a tear-stained first visit to the Meadowlands is something approaching the truth: “a frequently overmatched team needs to catch the opposing defense napping on fast break opportunities and surprise them with quick drives to the basket when things are calmer”. We’ll leave it at that.

Good and funny article. Loved the part on CDR’s twits. Hilarious!

    Lol. First preview worth reading!

  3. Mr. Dollar Bills Says:

“Now, if Brooklyn doesn’t happen, Newark is the perfect backup plan. Seattle and Kansas City may deserve teams, but it’d be mighty swell–in the pipe dream sense–if the Commissioner inserted a stipulation into the Nets/Devils deal that mandated the Nets stay in Newark in the event that Brooklyn falls through.”

    In only a perfect world

    CDR pwns

  4. Net Income Says:

And how would the Commissioner do that? He can’t. It would be a restraint of trade. It would make the Nets an even lesser property than they are now…and NO owner would ever agree to that. It’s a silly suggestion.

    hence the words “pipe dream”
